All students are offered life skills education in their course of study at Connections. Life skills classes may include cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, gardening, handiwork, self-care, friendship-building, and social communication. While enjoying fun, hands-on activities, students develop a sense of responsibility, problem-solving skills, self-awareness, and confidence in asking for help and advocating for what they need. When students enter New Connections, goals are more individualized based on their plans for adult living arrangements, college, or vocation.
