Inman park festival

Our school community participates in the parade and hosts a booth at the Inman Park Festival held the last weekend of April each year. Not only is it an incredibly fun weekend for students, staff, and families, but this event is a critical opportunity for us to raise awareness about our school, teach others about neurodiversity, and promote inclusion and accessibility. Come cheer for us in the parade April 29, 2023, or better yet, join us!

TREES ATLANTA

Our young adult students’ service project with Trees Atlanta helped make our city a cleaner, greener, more inviting place to live and work. Students worked on planting trees, spreading mulch and pruning, and removing noxious and invasive plants in many of Atlanta’s most treasured parks and open spaces. Students had the opportunity to connect their understanding of service to an actual practice of it in the field with an opportunity for reflection. It was a wonderful way to reduce our carbon footprint and give back to the Atlanta community.

connections Community garden

Connections students hand-built a raised garden bed from initial design and sourcing of materials to planting the first seeds when construction was complete. They now grow flowers, vegetables, and herbs for our school community. Students use the veggies and herbs to create healthy snacks in the Connections Cafe!

little Free library

After months of collaboration, design, and construction, the students gifted the Inman Park community with a Little Free Library. Come check out the books we love and read along with us! You can find our library, embellished with the Connections gear symbol, in front of Inman Park United Methodist Church.

lifeline animal project

Connections students collected donations, including much needed items such as cleaning supplies and dog shampoo, and organized them to donate to LifeLine Animal Project. Students also made rope leashes by hand to donate. The project culminated with a special visit by some of the shelter dogs!

“I want to help society with their animals. I want to be a veterinarian. I would like to save animals’ lives.” - Bo
